Frequently asked questions
My general contractor wants to be an 'additional insured.' What does that mean?+
It means the GC is protected under your general liability policy for claims that come from your work on their project. It's very common, and we can add them and send the certificate of insurance for you, usually the same day.
Do I need workers' comp in Texas?+
Texas doesn't require most private employers to carry workers' compensation, but many general contractors and commercial jobs do require it in their contracts. We'll help you understand your options and what your contracts ask for.
Does my personal truck insurance cover me while I'm working?+
Often it doesn't. If you use your truck to haul tools, materials, or a trailer for your business, a claim during work could be denied on a personal policy. Commercial auto closes that gap.
I'm just starting my business. Can you still help?+
Yes. We work with new contractors every week. Bring your trade, the work you plan to do, and any contract requirements, and we'll find coverage that fits.
